KUCHING: Sarawak lost one of its brightest young sepak takraw coach, Brian Ebe Noha, who passed away on Monday evening.
The sepak takraw fraternity was in a state of shock as the affable and popular Brian passed away barely a week after guiding his team, SMK Tabuan Jaya to a double-victory at the MSSM Kuching Inter School U-18 and U-15 Sepak Takraw Championship recently.
He was only 28 years old. The late Brian was playing futsal at the Sentosa Sports Centre when he suddenly collapsed at the court after a competitive match.
News of his demise touched an outpouring of grief at SMK Tabuan Jaya.
According to SMK Tabuan Jaya principal Hassan Wa’ Ghani, Brian was the teacher in charge and school sepak takraw coach, and had only been stationed at the school for two weeks. He hails from Bau district and was previously stationed in SMK Pusa.
“I personally requested for his transfer to my school as I have seen his track record in sepak takraw. He is a man who is capable of producing good young players for the state and his demise is a terrible loss for us as we have just emerged as inter-school champions,” commented Hassan.
Sarawak have truly lost one of it’s bright and young coaching prospects in sepak takraw.
